Quality Assured Visitor Attraction
Are you interested in Louth's history? Have you thought of joining our team of volunteers at the museum? Are you out-going and love meeting people? You could be just the person to meet, greet and guide visitors in our museum!
Our volunteers are a friendly and motivated team - why not come and be part of it!
As a ‘front-of-house’ guide you will discover Louth’s fascinating heritage and then share your knowledge by giving friendly talks to museum visitors and passing on your enthusiasm for history. Your role would involve meeting and greeting visitors, showing them around and explaining about the exhibits we have in the museum. Don’t worry if, at the beginning, you don’t feel confident enough to guide on your own, as new guides shadow experienced guides until they are ready to guide by themselves – but you’re never alone in the museum and there’s always someone on hand to answer those tricky questions!
Or, perhaps you’re the type of person who likes to delve a little deeper and would like to assist in research for a temporary exhibition or help care for our valuable collections?
We currently open from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm every Wednesday to Saturday from April to October and we do try to open on extra days or evenings for special events whenever we can. The minimum time commitment is either a morning or afternoon session, though obviously volunteers can do as much, or as little, as they want to. By volunteering just a small amount of your time you will help to keep Louth Museum at the heart of the community.
