Quality Assured Visitor Attraction
The summer exhibition celebrating the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation (02/06/1953), got off to a flying start on Saturday June 1st with visitors enjoying a free buffet and toasting Her Majesty’s health.
As well as extensive displays of coronation memorabilia, this exhibition, which will run until the end of June, also takes older visitors on a stroll down memory lane and gives younger ones a fascinating look at life and Louth in the 1950s through a range of newspapers, magazines, books, brochures and artefacts from the era.
Much of what is on display has been generously loaned by local people and organisations for which the Museum is extremely grateful. These include photographs from Louth Photographic Society; 50s style costume from Bombshell Boutique, Mercer Row and flower arrangement by Samm of Airtons Salon, Upgate.
